Job Purpose Summary

The incumbent will perform processing activities for new and rescheduled personal loans in line with the Group Retail Loans policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities By Dimensions

  • Shareholder & Financial:
  • Assist in meeting units’ budget, controlling costs and achieving targeted levels of processing volumes.
  • Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Associate, Retail Loans role.
  • Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
  • Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
  • Customer (Internal & External):
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.
  • To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
  • Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required
  • Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
  • Timely review all retail loan proposals or loans designated in accordance with set procedures for receiving, processing, checking and filing loans documentation.
  • Support the Supervisor of Retail Loan in critically reviewing all credit documents pertaining to new /Top up or rescheduled loans ensuring all necessary procedures/ calculations have been taken with regards to personal/vehicle loan repayments, interest rate fixing, fees collection and payment scheduling, red flag any deficiencies for correction or rejection of retail credit proposal.
  • Liaise with Retail Banking Credit & Collections Department for rescheduling Retail loans and for the receipt of loan documentation, Group Compliance on QCB related compliance issue, and with the Group Risk as and when needed and according to the delegated authority.
  • Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit history and other financial information.
  • Support the Supervisor of Retail Loans in the preparation of management information system (MIS) and other reports related to the credit process and portfolio.
  • Input all data in the core banking system when new personal loans/vehicle are created or rescheduled and top up
  • Handle large volume on inquiries on loan status and reply balance verification from vendors, accountants and auditors.
  • Check the dealers, showrooms and insurance companies.
  • Learning & Knowledge:
  • Possess a good knowledge of the Retail banking business, its products and related risks together with a good knowledge of retail credit operations and controls.
  • Seek improvements to current processes and recommend them to the Supervisor of Retail Loans
  • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor degree University Graduate/preferred with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank / with special emphasis in vehicle loans processing
