A diversified business group in Qatar is seeking an experienced Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) to provide strategic leadership and overall direction across the Group and its business operations.

Reporting directly to the Board/Chairman, the GCEO will be responsible for translating the Group’s vision into clear business strategies, driving sustainable growth, strengthening operational and financial performance, and ensuring effective governance across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the Group’s overall strategy, business plans, and long-term objectives in alignment with the Board’s direction.
• Provide executive leadership and oversight across the Group’s businesses, ensuring alignment with overall Group objectives.
• Drive sustainable business growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and organizational development.
• Monitor financial and operational performance through budgets, KPIs, management reports, and regular performance reviews.
• Lead and support company heads and senior management, establishing clear accountability and performance expectations.
• Identify and evaluate new business, investment, partnership, and expansion opportunities.
• Ensure strong corporate governance, internal controls, risk management, regulatory compliance, and implementation of Group policies.
• Review major business proposals, investments, contracts, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, business partners, financial institutions, government entities, and other external parties.
• Promote collaboration and efficient utilization of resources across the Group.
• Develop a high-performance leadership culture and support organizational and succession development.
• Provide timely strategic and performance reports to the Board and advise on significant business risks, opportunities, and decisions.

Skills

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Proven senior executive leadership experience as a Group CEO, CEO, Managing Director, COO, General Manager, or equivalent senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple business units, subsidiaries, or diversified business operations.
• Strong strategic planning, business development, commercial, financial, and operational management capabilities.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L oversight, financial performance analysis, forecasting, and investment evaluation.
• Proven ability to drive business growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and organizational development.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and executive-level decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop senior management teams, establish accountability, and manage performance across different business functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills with the ability to operate effectively at Board and executive level.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to represent the Group professionally with business partners, financial institutions, government entities, and other key stakeholders.
• Excellent command of both English and Arabic is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of the Qatar and/or GCC business environment is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• Relevant senior leadership experience in Qatar or the GCC is highly preferred.
