Job Overview
A leading energy organisation is seeking a Head of Contract to lead a contracts subteam managing a multi-billion EPCC contract. The role will ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery while supporting the development of a major projects contract centre of expertise.
The successful candidate will oversee post-award contract management, claims and dispute resolution, digital strategy improvements, and talent development for contract and supply teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide commercial and contracting direction for EPCC contracts from post-award to close-out, managing change orders and value protection plans
Collaborate with Supply to provide guidance on claims prevention and resolution in accordance with governance standards
Maintain effective relationships with project management, legal, finance, risk management, and other functional teams to address contract issues and mitigation strategies
Develop post-award contract management strategies and scenarios for onshore projects
Coordinate contract evaluations and close-out preparations in line with organisational procedures
Provide central coordination for contractual responses to EPC contractors and ensure alignment across the project
Support management in claims evaluation, planning, and preparation of actionable assessments for the Major Projects organisation
Contribute to digital strategy initiatives to accelerate project execution and implement world-class practices
Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent in contract, procurement, and supply disciplines, with emphasis on Qatari talent development
Qualifications
Experience and Skills
Minimum 10 years’ experience in multi-billion lump-sum major energy projects (post-award) in a similar role
Project management, construction, or project control management experience is advantageous
Strong influencing and leadership skills
Strong business and risk acumen
Experience in legal matters, claims, and dispute resolution is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong commercial correspondence capability
Ability to drive continuous improvement while balancing quick wins and strategic objectives
Strong interpersonal skills with team leadership experience
