Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Ensures compliance with customer contract requirements.
2. Procures, in collaboration with Buyers, and executes transportation
services
3. Clarifies requirements with customer and authorities
4. Ensures compliance with export/import procedures and documents
5. Represents Siemens’ contractual and commercial interests vs
transportation contractors and communicates with respective
contractors
6. Aligns shipment schedule, ETA and further details with sites and
ensures comprehensive and timely delivery of components and
material to site
7. Ensures compliance of actual costs with budget
8. Provides feedback and lessons learned
Specific Tasks:
a. Prepares and implements procedures in regard to procurement,
logistics, transportation, and material handling at site.
b. Visits sites regularly in order to verify compliance with procedures;
performs audits at site.
c. Clarifies export/import requirements.
d. Prepares and maintains Procurement / sub-orders tracking reports.
e. Prepares and maintains shipment tracking reports.
f. Supports updating of Procurement schedule.
g. Supports the On-shore Project Manager in preparing and executing
monthly reviews of cost-to-date, cost-to-complete, schedule, progress,
critical paths, risks, mitigations, and opportunities.
h. Prepares documentation for substantiation and defense of claims.
i. Initiates and follows through insurance claims.
j. Prepare monthly & weekly reports for procurement update and ETAs.
Experience:
i. Adequate education in transportation and logistics
ii. > 6 years professional experience in large EPC projects
iii. > 3 years professional experience as Project Expeditor / Procurement
Coordinator in large international EPC projects in Middle East: Qatar,
UAE, Saudia Arabia, or Oman
