IT Support Engineer


We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer who can provide round the clock support to business users troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions. This role is also responsible for the continuous, 24/7 monitoring and management of the organization's IT operations, infrastructure, and security systems. This will be based in Hamad Port reporting to the Head of IT Operations & Security.


Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24/7 technical support to business users, addressing and resolving IT-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth business operations.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain the organization’s network, servers, and cloud services, ensuring they meet operational and security standards.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, escalating to higher-level support teams when necessary.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and cloud environments, ensuring consistent availability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to implement system upgrades, patches, and new technologies to improve overall infrastructure performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide continuous IT support during off-hours and weekends.


To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT support, systems administration, or network administration.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in high-pressure environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), systems administration (Windows/Linux), and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus tools.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support, including weekends and holidays.
  • Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment.
