Role Description The Reporter will be responsible for researching, gathering, and producing news stories and feature articles that highlight the work and impact of Global Dryland Alliance. This full-time, on-site role in Doha, Qatar involves attending events, briefings, and field visits; conducting interviews with stakeholders and experts; and verifying facts to ensure accurate and balanced coverage. The Reporter will write and adapt content for various platforms, including web, print, and multimedia channels, and collaborate with communications and program teams to align stories with organizational priorities. Daily tasks include monitoring relevant regional and global news, developing story ideas, meeting editorial deadlines, and maintaining high journalistic and ethical standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with experience producing clear, accurate, and timely stories. Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills, including the ability to explain complex topics in accessible language. Candidates should possess Multimedia skills, such as basic photo, audio, or video production and familiarity with digital publishing tools. Candidates should have strong research, fact-checking, and critical thinking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Relevant bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Proficiency in English; additional language skills, especially Arabic, are an asset. Ability to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, collaborate with diverse teams, and adapt to fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Prior experience reporting on international development, climate, agriculture, or policy issues is beneficial.
