Responsibilities
- Carry out dimensional surveys of structures, modules, and piping during fabrication and installation.
- Operate precision instruments including Total Station, Laser Scanner, Theodolite, Vernier calipers, and Laser Trackers.
- Verify and record dimensions against drawings, isometrics, and 3D models.
- Assist in as-built surveys and provide accurate data for drawing/model updates.
- Generate dimensional control reports, highlighting non-conformances and recommending corrective actions.
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and QA/QC teams to resolve fit-up or alignment issues.
- Maintain calibration and safe handling of surveying and measuring equipment.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards during site and workshop activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Civil, or Survey Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3–6 years’ experience in dimensional control within oil & gas, shipbuilding, construction, or heavy fabrication projects.
- Proficiency in using surveying/measuring equipment (Total Station, Laser Tracker, Theodolite).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other CAD/3D software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of international standards (ASME, ISO, API).
