Responsibilities
Enforce HSE policies and procedures across solar plant construction and operational activities.
Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and implement mitigation measures specific to solar plant operations.
Ensure adherence to HSE standards, local regulations, and international best practices (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA).
Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for workers and contractors.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
Perform site inspections, audits, and ensure compliance with solar plant-specific safety requirements (electrical safety, working at heights, fire prevention).
Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire safety and evacuation drills.
Monitor waste management, emissions, and environmental impact of solar plant operations.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate HSE into all project phases.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance reports.
RequirementsEducational & Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
Professional certifications: NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.
Specialized training in renewable energy / solar plant safety (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of solar plant construction, electrical hazards, and renewable energy safety practices.
Ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
Skilled in delivering safety training and reporting to management.
Capable of investigating incidents and recommending corrective actions.
