As a Pastry Line Team Leader within Bakery & Pastry, you will be responsible to Supervise production lines and belts as assigned, including portioning lines, packing lines, pastry lines, etc. You will ensure safe and smooth operation of the equipment and machinery at all times. As well as ensuring on-time completion of the volume and tasks with expected production output and subsequent on-time handover to the next production steps and/or Assembly.
You will be fluent and knowledgeable in simple and day-to-day maintenance and trouble-shooting (quick fixes) of the equipment and machinery. And you will assist as required in preventive maintenance activities and complex problem solving by QACC Maintenance and/or contractors.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure the production line is set to produce the expected output as directed by the department head
- Ensure proper handover between shifts and escalation if required.
- Ensure the sufficient team members are available prior starting the shift
- Gain sufficient experience and knowledge in all equipment and machinery as assigned, to be fluent with equipment manufacturer’s guidelines, safe operating tips, SOPs, and basic maintenance and trouble-shooting skills.
- Perform quick serviceability checks on the assigned equipment and machinery upon reporting on duty as well as before finishing the shift.
- Record and report all mechanical irregularities impacting the smooth operation of the equipment and machinery.
- Pre-set the assigned lines and belts at the optimal speed / intervals as per product specifications.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the equipment and machinery throughout the shift and sections as assigned.
- Guide and train other staff (who are not Operators) in proper operation of the equipment and machinery.
- Analyze and adjust equipment settings by increasing the speed and/or reducing the intervals to achieve optimal operational efficiency without compromising safety and quality.
- Coordinate with all concerned seniors on duty within and outside the department in case of any emergency.
- Ensure the daily KPIs are met and report any deviation.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will meet below qualifications and experience:
- High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (preferably experience in operating food production/ bakery mass production/ equipment or machinery)
Essential:
- Familiarity with equipment operating Safety Procedures and Requirements
- Technical knowledge of major brand manufactured equipment and machinery
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- English communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and flexible in working hours
- Time Management skills
