Reporting to the Head, Scholarly Communications and Research, the successful candidate will establish strong relationships with faculty and students connecting them to the services, content and tools that meet their research, teaching and learning needs.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison to all academic business units with responsibilities for delivering a program of instruction, consultation, and research support services and build collections in all formats that support research and curricular needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with a team of librarians on designing library programs, workshops, events, assessments and other relevant activities.
The successful candidate will assist in the management of the University’s institutional repository, and promote research and publishing best practices with faculty, staff, and students.
The successful candidate will liaise with faculty and administrators concerning future academic directions, programmatic needs, and changes in course offerings that may impact how the library supports the business unit/program and collaborate with colleagues at UDST, and other institutions across global network.
The successful candidate will develop responsive outreach and other information services; and take a leadership role on projects and initiatives as appropriate. S/He will participate in library and system-wide committees, and professional activities outside of the University.
The successful candidate will assist students and faculty in discovering, using and evaluating resources within the library and support all UDST library users; explain techniques, policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will develop and assist with library and campus-wide research projects as required, and promote outputs externally at workshops, conferences, and other events in related to the research ecosystem.
The successful candidate will collaborate with all UDST Colleges in identifying and promoting research support for faculty and graduate student research projects and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Master’s degree required in Library and/or Information Science, from ALA-accredited or equivalent program required.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Library Services or related field.
Previous experience in research, publishing, instruction, collection development, and/or reference services, preferably in an academic library.
Language
Fluency in written and spoken English language required.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language preferred.
Other Required Skills
Attention to Detail, Time Management and Service Excellence is required. Candidate should be a team player and should possess technical know how of Library Science, process design and implementation.
