Job Summary
The Embryologist will assist in research and laboratory investigation of various aspects of IVF treatment and other programs of assisted reproduction. This will involve the day-to-day running of the laboratory and providing consistent and high standard assisted reproduction services.
Job Responsibilities 1
Operational oversight of the Senior Clinical Embryologist including the following:
Works closely with the Senior Clinical Embryologist and physicians in assisting patients with treating infertility.
Responsible for ensuring a high standard of service is continually provided to all patients.
Works with the Senior and physicians to determine why patients cannot conceive naturally, research infertility treatments, present treatment options, carry out clinical procedures such as in vitro fertilization or assisted reproductive technology, and collect eggs and sperm samples.
Works closely with the Senior and physicians to research and gather clinical fertilization data to better assess fertilization works and the techniques that can be used to make the process simpler and more accessible.
Keeps abreast of current development in the field of Embryology and helps develop new and advanced techniques and tools useful for improving the process, by continuous education and by attending relevant conferences and workshops and using studies and other medical or scientific data to assist with fertilization.
Works with medical engineers to maintain satisfactory and safe performance of all medical equipment and instrumentation and assists in validation within the laboratory.
Job Responsibilities 2
Strives to effectively convey the fertility treatment information to patients in a simple and sympathetic way to help them make informed decisions.
Works with the Senior and physicians to advise the patients on how to plan their families and best practices for increasing fertility and promoting the health of the parents and the baby.
Collects and tests samples from the patients to better understand their ability to undergo fertilization techniques.
Responsible for handling oocytes and preparing them for IVF after egg retrieval.
Prepares and assesses oocytes for Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Responsible for fertilizing egg cells in a laboratory environment outside of the body.
Prepares and collects sperms from testicular exploration and sperm aspiration samples.
Monitors & maintains appropriate liquid nitrogen levels for the normal function of the cryofridges.

Job Experience
Minimum 3 years of licensed practice after completion of primary qualification in Embryology and IVF.
Experience in a hospital or medical clinic (required).
