Sr. Planning Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of strategic project plans for manufacturing and operational activities, aligning with the long-term goals of the company.
- Maintain SAP master planning data, Routings and BOM’s
- Calculate order lead times, optimize resource allocation strategies and report on production capacity.
- Conduct regular project reviews and proactively address project risks.
- Implement advanced scheduling techniques using SAP to enhance efficiency and improve planning.
- Ensure that technical specifications, quality plans and customer requirements are effectively incorporated into the planning process.
- Calculate accurate cost estimates for projects, monitor actual costs and initiate cost improvement projects.
- Ensure the meticulous maintenance of project documentation, including plans, schedules, resource allocations, and reports.
- Work with Sales team to incorporate forecasts into material planning function.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior planning engineers, conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, and contribute to the continuous learning culture.
- Ensure HSE compliance and collaborate with HSE team to address and mitigate project-related safety concerns.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in planning roles, with 5 years in the Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing and servicing industry(API 6A).
- Good understanding of project accounting and cost control processes
- Planning and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent leadership and mentorship abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards and manufacturing processes
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Extensive SAP experience – Super User level
