About the role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Inspector – Level II.

The Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Inspector – Level II will manage the shift of NDT Engineers and ensure that all NDT tasks have been performed in accordance with latest approved maintenance data. In this role, you will be responsible for the control of NDT equipment and setting up of new capability as per the requirements of newly inducted fleet. You will also ensure that the team members are abreast of latest standards of EN4179. Perform and certify NDT tasks performed on the aircraft and aircraft parts.

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

•  Exercise authorization privileges in relation to the accomplishment of scheduled or unscheduled NDT inspection requirements.
• Ensure all NDT inspections carried out are in accordance with the relevant manuals and instructions laid out in the latest revisions.
• Manage a shift of NDT Engineers in accordance with the production plan for optimum utilization of available resources and timely completion of tasks.
• Ensure that shift members are concurrent with latest technology standards by conducting tool box talks and nominating them for required trainings.
• Management and control of tooling used in the NDT Workshop by following the laid down company procedures to stay in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the NDT Supervisor in maintaining and updating NDT procedures as per latest regulations of EN4179 by regular review of latest publications.
• Set up capability for new NDT methods by preparing business case, soliciting financial approval and arranging to procure required equipment in order to meet the operational requirements.
• Maintain NDT qualification validity of at least 05 methods and ensuring timely renewal of authorization prior to expiry.
• Ensure the highest standard of workmanship, quality and productivity are achieved within the NDT Workshop.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: 

·       Relevant College or University qualification with minimum 5 years of job-related experience.

·       Holder of minimum 5 level 2 NDT Methods Qualification proven track record in the field of light / heavy / Workshops maintenance environment.

·       Holder of NDT EN4179 or PCN (Aerospace) Level 2 qualification in minimum 05 of the inspection methods for Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiography and Thermography.

·       Holder of valid and current company’s Authorization Certificate for the inspection methods listed above.

·       Experience in performing NDT inspection of Airbus or Boeing aircrafts engines, parts or structures.

·       Experience in performing NDT inspection of aircraft during A Check and C Check inputs.

·       Capable of reading and interpreting the relevant NDT manuals.

·       Capable of applying the techniques and procedures as stated in the NDT manuals.

·       Capable of interpreting the NDT inspection results.

·       Capable of familiarizing and usage of NDT equipment.

·       Able to apply the safety precautions during NDT inspections.

·       Excellent communication skill (speak/read/write) in English.
