Job Purpose
Advise and support Mechanical Engineering activities (in the general areas of
piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and packaged equipment) for both
onshore and offshore facilities during EPC and Start-up phase until handover
to permanent Asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet Operations
expectations in term of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over
the facility design life cycle.
Key Job Accountabilities
Provide all aspects of Mechanical Engineering support (in the general areas of piping, pressure
vessels, heat exchangers and packaged equipment) to contribute to the division strategy and
goals which include design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, advanced
troubleshooting and develop work packs to maintenance executed modifications.
2. Define and document best practices within the area of expertise and recommends
performance improvement initiatives.
3. Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per
requirements to support overall business objectives. Identify plant problems concerning static.
equipment and piping and shall cover degradation/ failure and equipment malfunction.
4. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants, and service
providers.
5. Guide less experienced engineers in implementing the company integrity and reliability
systems.
6. Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under
the area of responsibility.
7. Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks
(under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability and Availability.
8. Provide Management of Change related technical support to assigned Assets (Operations) and
identifying timely solutions to ensure Asset Integrity and Reliability sustaining safe and
continuous plant environment.
9. Active participation in Safety Workshops, Cold Eye Reviews and Value Improvement
Workshops. Steward and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), scenario-based risk.
assessments (SBRAs), risk screening and Formal Risk Assessment (FRA).
Skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.
Attained Senior Engineer level of competencies as per Mechanical.
Technical Competencies.
Knowledge in performing design calculation / verifications with
software such as PV Elite, CAESAR II, Nozzle Pro.
