Compliance Officer

Responsibilities:


  • Legal conformity and compliance gap analysis.
  • Submit legal reports on compliance monitoring to the Board of Directors and supervisory authorities.
  • Express an opinion on compliance policies update.
  • Provide advice and support to the stakeholders within the legal scope of the compliance.
  • Monitor the relevance and effectiveness of the AML/CTF training program in The Group.
  • Obtain documents signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and notify the QFMA to prevent any confusion when excluding any of the legal requirements.
  • Create a table called (Laws Table), make an update upon every change to any field in the table and create a serial number for each version.
  • Unify all definitions and all executors.
  • Use Excel for creation and analysis.
  • Receive, investigate, and evaluate internal suspicious transaction reports.
  • Prepare reports on suspicious transactions, submit them to the Financial Information Unit, and inform the regulatory authority thereof.
  • Acting as a primary liaison between The Group and the Financial Information Unit, the regulatory authority and other relevant authorities in the country, with regard to issues of AML/CTF.
  • Respond immediately to any request submitted by the Financial Information Unit, the regulatory authority and other relevant authorities in the country.
  • Receiving research results related to issues of AML/CTF, issued by the government, the regulatory authority, and international bodies, and acting upon them.
  • Submit reports to the Board of Directors on matters of AML/CTF.
  • Inform the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer of any notable developments related to Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (whether internal or external).
  • Exercise any other functions that may be assigned to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer under the AML/CTF Law, these Rules, or others.
  • Inform the Board of Directors of any instructions issued by the regulatory body, and records must be established and kept.


Requirements:


  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree in a relevant field can be advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other relevant certifications in compliance and AML are highly valued.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry, specifically in AML compliance.
  • Experience in implementing AML policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and performing due diligence checks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to AML, such as those issued by local regulatory bodies.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, crucial for detecting unusual financial activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Deep understanding of AML laws, regulations, and best practices applicable in the region where the organization operates.
  • High ethical standards and integrity, as the role involves handling sensitive financial information and ensuring regulatory compliance.
