We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning & Budgeting Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in guiding the organization's financial planning process, assisting with strategic initiatives, and managing budget development. With strong analytical skills and expertise in financial management, this individual will ensure financial processes are aligned with business objectives while contributing to sound financial decision-making.


The Financial Planning & Budgeting Specialist plays a pivotal role in conducting financial analysis to support business and financial planning processes. This includes facilitating the development of annual budgets and forecasts that align with the strategic direction of the organization. Additionally, this role provides operational support for financial planning and ensures that expenditure aligns with the budget.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Assist in the strategic planning process, including the creation of business plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in developing the organization’s financial strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate policies related to financial planning.

Operational:

  • Manage the budgeting and financial planning process for various business sectors, including periodic re-forecasting.
  • Monitor and control expenses through procurement processes to ensure alignment with budgetary limits.
  • Perform financial analysis and contribute to business cases for investment decisions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial plans and consolidate the final financial reports.
  • Analyze cash flows, projected returns, and general business decisions to ensure financial soundness.
  • Conduct variance and trend analysis to validate business assumptions and performance.
  • Research financial trends and best practices to optimize business strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial planning and reporting policies.
  • Forecast cash flow based on business plans, budgets, and updated forecasts.
  • Automate financial processes to increase efficiency.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager as required.


Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, or PGD) in a relevant discipline is a plus.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA) is a plus
  • Over 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 4 years in a middle management role.
  • Expertise in financial systems and tools, with strong capabilities in resource management to achieve business objectives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for financial reporting, including IFRS.
  • Strong decision-making and communication
