Faculty Role

The faculty member will contribute to teaching, student advising, curriculum and program development, scholarly activity, committee service, and professional service.

The position is in Pediatric Dentistry at Qatar University and may be appointed at assistant, associate, or professor level.

Teaching and Advising

Provide reports on teaching activities and student advising as assigned by the department. Develop courses and participate in curriculum and program development. Meet instructional and advising responsibilities under university policies and procedures.

Research and Service

Participate in scholarly and research activities that enhance professional development and contribute to the discipline. Serve on department, college, and university committees as appropriate. Provide professional services to the university and the community.

Academic Qualifications

A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is necessary. Candidates should be recognized authorities in their subject area with research and scholarly achievements. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of their specialization and potential to develop new knowledge.

Teaching And Research Qualifications

Evidence of research potential, including potential to publish in appropriate leading journals, is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to use varied teaching techniques and engage and inspire students. Candidates must be able to develop curriculum, assessment techniques, and effective teaching programs.

Professional Capabilities

Understanding of equal opportunity issues affecting teaching is required. Continuous professional development, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate to colleagues and diverse students are required. The role requires the ability to meet deadlines and plan, organize, and deliver programs of work.

Academic Benefits
