Job Summary
The Network and Security Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of QSE’s network infrastructure. This includes managing internal and external connectivity, protecting data and systems, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The role requires proactive collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to deliver robust, secure, and scalable network services.
Roles and Responsibilities
Network Operations & Security Ensure high availability, performance, and security of QSE’s network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN,wireless, cloud connectivity). Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, encryption, access controls). Monitor network traffic, analyze logs, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Manage different network segments operations and related projects to enhance security and operational efficiency. Support for MPLS network, GN network, routing engine and supporting for Multicast setup Stakeholder & Vendor Management Manage relationships with connectivity providers, brokers, information vendors, and third parties. Ensure satisfaction and secure connectivity for internal users, external customers, and suppliers. Coordinate with other IT teams and business units for seamless integration and troubleshooting. Continuous Improvement & Automation Participate in the development and enhancement of network policies, procedures, and documentation. Implement automation tools and scripts for network monitoring, configuration, and reporting. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Incident Response & Business Continuity Develop and maintain incident response plans and disaster recovery strategies. Lead or support drills and exercises to test network resilience and recovery capabilities. Ensure all network systems and users comply with security policies and procedures. Compliance & Audit Support Support internal and external audits, providing evidence and documentation as required. Implement and enforce encryption protocols, secure communication policies, and user access controls.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Networks, Computer Science, or related field. Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper, Fortinet NSE, Comp TIA Network+, Security+). Minimum 8 years’ experience in network and security administration. Proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and security solutions. Experience with cloud networking, network automation, and monitoring tools. Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and audit processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Technical Skills Deep understanding of network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, cloud networking). Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, HPE-Aruba, Huawei). Expertise in network protocols and models (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VoIP). Experience with network segmentation, virtualization, and secure gateway implementation. Implementing and managing security solutions: firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, endpoint protection, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, NAC. Applying encryption protocols (SSL/TLS, IPsec, VPN) and secure authentication mechanisms (MFA, SSO, PAM). Using advanced network monitoring and performance tools. Proactive capacity planning, optimization, and troubleshooting of network performance issues.
