Job description

A Civil Site Engineer is required for a construction company in Qatar.

We are looking for a Civil Site Engineer with practical experience in executing residential and commercial building projects, who can manage the site daily, monitor workers and contractors, coordinate with the consultant, and ensure the execution of works according to the drawings and specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily site operations.
• Read and implement architectural and structural drawings on-site.
• Follow up on excavation, foundations, insulation, steel, concrete, block, plaster, and finishing works.
• Coordinate with the consultant before inspections and pouring.
• Prepare Inspection Requests (IR) and pouring requests.
• Monitor quality and safety on-site.
• Submit daily reports to management with photos and notes.
• Coordinate labor, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure no discrepancies between drawings and reality on-site.
• Notify management early of any delays, technical issues, or additional costs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building projects.
• Experience in Qatar or the Gulf is preferred.
• Proficient in reading architectural and structural drawings.
• Good knowledge of inspection procedures with the consultant.
• Able to manage labor and foremen on-site.
• Capable of preparing clear daily reports.
• Strong, organized personality capable of handling site pressure.

Required Skills:

• Excellent reading and understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
• Monitoring the execution of civil works on-site according to drawings and specifications.
• Experience in excavation, insulation, steel, formwork, concrete, block, plaster, and finishing works.
• Able to prepare the site before consultant inspections and before pouring.
• Knowledge of IR procedures, pouring requests, and monitoring consultant comments.
• Able to manage labor, foremen, and contractors on-site.
• Monitoring work quality and ensuring no execution errors.
• Monitoring safety on-site and notifying management of any hazards.
• Preparing clear daily reports including completed works, photos, labor, materials, and issues.
• Coordinating with the quantity surveyor, accountant, and buyers regarding materials and costs.
• Quickly solving site problems and raising any discrepancies in drawings to management before execution.
• Strong, organized personality who can handle work pressure on-site.
• Proficient in using WhatsApp, Excel, and preferably AutoCAD for reading drawings.
• Previous experience in building projects within Qatar is preferred.
