Roles & Responsibilities
As the Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Lead, you will perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire alarms systems and suppression equipment, e.g., wet sprinklers & kitchen extinguishing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair fire alarm and suppression systems.
- Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Shall develop and implement procedures to identify and prevent defective services from recurring.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes.
- Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Maintain NICET Level II certification for Fire Alarm systems, Special Hazard systems and Inspection/Testing of Water Based Systems.
- Maintain NICET Level III certification for either Fire Alarms or Special Hazard systems.
Desired Candidate Profile
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- NICET Certified Level III Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems is required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate or bachelor s degree in engineering is highly desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including:
- Experience in Fire Alarm & Suppression Field as Journeyman and/or Foreman.
- Extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems (wet, kitchen extinguishing, etc.)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver s License
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
