Roles & Responsibilities
The supervision, direction and management of resources under his jurisdiction to achieve the most effective maintenance, and the management of the shift resources to ensure leave, training, sickness, and other absences are adequately covered to provide optimum shift coverage.
Exercising his license/approval in relation to the accomplishment of scheduled, unscheduled maintenance and rectification of defects, to ensure maintenance is accomplished to the required standard and the operating program is achieved in an efficient and safe manner. The recording and issues Certificate of Release to service the work accomplished in accordance with the current TPM, QE, CPM and other third- party customer procedure and legislation.
Viewing the work and resources allocated and required to ensure expedient rectification of defect utilizing allocated staff.
Effective management of the aircraft technical team.
Accountable for the total performance of the group under his supervision.
Advise the Maintenance Manager of any impending issues or areas of concern that may have an impact aircraft and in particular cabin system serviceability.
Responsible for the final release of work while ensuring tasks are performed to meet QE standards and targets such as aircraft availability, system reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
Review work procedures, equipment and standards to propose improvements to ensure work processes are effective.
Implement solutions to technical problems within his range of operations.
Provide assistance to other QE departments, as required, to define, develop and prepare maintenance work packages.
Ensure aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance company policies and procedures, with special focus on documenting maintenance activities.
Work together with OEM's, vendors and supplier to find solutions to defects and/or problems affecting the operation of the aircraft.
Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
