Parsons is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Highway Design Technician to join our team! In this role, you will support Roads BIM coordination with the Project Delivery Teams in the day-to-day development, establishment, and implementation of BIM. The Highway Design Technician will use strong CAD/BIM and technical skills to produce 3D/2D models for drawing production, quality control, coordination, and constructability analysis.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the BIM Coordinator and Highways Delivery Team(s) in day-to-day BIM implementation activities.
- Develop Civil 3D modeling and production templates for highway and road design.
- Develop 3D/2D dimensional models required for drawing preparation, clash reporting, and presentation, aligned with project LOD requirements and modeling standards.
- Extract 3D solid models for clash analysis, schedule review, and quantity surveying.
- Extract infrastructure design layouts, schedules, profiles, sections, and cut sheets dynamically from the BIM model.
- Prepare highway drawings including basic arrangements, layouts, profiles, cross-sections, and other relevant details.
- Develop and extract 2d road geometry from the models for internal reviews and coordination meetings.
- Ensure Project Information Models (PIM s) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP, and CDE protocol.
- Prepare BIM package submissions in accordance with project standards and requirements.
- Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs using appropriate BIM tools.
- Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis and coordination with other disciplines.

Desired Candidate Profile
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Diploma in Engineering or a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- 10 years of experience in roads modeling and drafting.
- Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, design review, coordination, and collaboration platforms, including at minimum:
- Civil 3D
- Subassembly Composer
- Dynamo
- Navisworks
- Strong understanding of roads/highways design concepts and digital delivery workflows.
- Ability to develop 3D / 2D models, layouts, profiles, and sections suitable for drawing production and coordination.
- Ability to perform clash detection, prepare clash reports, and support resolution with the design team.
- Familiarity with working in a Common Data Environment (CDE) and following agreed TIDP and MIDP.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with BIM coordinators, engineers, and other project team members.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring

- Gulf Countries experience is preferred.
- Experience with additional digital design and collaboration tools such as:
- ProjectWise
- InfraWorks
- Revit

- BIM 360
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in preparing BIM package submissions and model assurance reports.
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to quality assurance and model validation.
- Ability to support the development of BIM standards, templates, and workflows for highways projects.
