Company Description Middle East International School (MIS) is a Pre K–12 English-medium college preparatory school based in Qatar, offering an American curriculum aligned with California standards. Role Description The High School English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons in alignment with the American curriculum and California standards. Key duties include preparing lesson plans, assessing and evaluating student progress, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students in developing critical reading, writing, and communication skills. The teacher will also facilitate students’ understanding of English literature and guide high school seniors in completing their required research projects. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Doha.
Qualifications Proficiency in designing and delivering English language and literature instruction tailored to diverse learners Strong ability to teach critical reading, writing, and analytical skills, including guiding students in research and essay composition Experience integrating technology into teaching, such as utilizing digital tools and resources to enhance learning Effective classroom management and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment Commitment to fostering students' academic, personal, and social growth Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) Valid teaching certification and a minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience at the high school level Familiarity with the American curriculum, including Advanced Placement (AP) and SAT/ACT preparation, is an advantage Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in cultural adaptability Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development
