- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drainage solutions within overall project designs, enhancing functionality and sustainability.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, illustrating drainage strategies and their impact.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of existing drainage systems, troubleshooting problems and proposing effective upgrades.
- Utilize advanced modeling software to simulate drainage scenarios, optimizing designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Review and approve design calculations and drawings submitted by junior engineers, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and community stakeholders, addressing concerns and fostering positive relationships.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring that surface water management plans are delivered on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously improve drainage practices and methodologies.
Desired Candidate Profile
15 years of relevant experience
Have UPDA Grade A
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, with a focus on water resources.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification demonstrating expertise in civil engineering practices.
- Experience with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrological modeling tools like HEC-RAS.
- Strong understanding of local and national regulations governing water management and environmental protection.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of managing teams and guiding junior staff in project execution.
- Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills to tackle complex drainage challenges.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in diverse teams, reflecting a commitment to inclusive practices.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus, especially in regions with diverse populations.
