ResponsibilitiesOur newest opportunity is for a talented Instrumentation & Control (SCADA) Engineer to join our award-winning team in Doha, Qatar.
This critical role will support instrumentation and control engineering design review, supervision, and technical assurance for major water station and pipeline projects. The position focuses on ensuring compliance, quality control, and integrity of SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation systems across design, installation, and commissioning stages.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Supporting data collection, site investigations, and preliminary studies for water infrastructure projects.
- Reviewing and validating consultant designs to ensure compliance with project, technical, and client requirements, including control philosophy, FDS, P&IDs, I/O lists, system architecture, and related documentation.
- Reviewing detailed engineering deliverables such as control panels, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, method statements, and instrumentation datasheets.
- Evaluating instrumentation and control systems including field instruments (level, pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, water quality, leak detection systems).
- Reviewing control system architecture including PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, HMIs, graphics, reporting tools, and BMS integration (HVAC, lighting, ventilation, leak detection).
- Ensuring correct integration of control systems with package units and overall plant systems.
- Participating in FAT, SAT, and supporting testing and commissioning activities.
- Reviewing design changes, variation orders, and ensuring proper technical documentation and approvals.
- Conducting site visits to verify installation compliance with approved designs.
- Supporting corrective and preventive actions related to design and implementation issues.
- Preparing technical reports and project status updates for stakeholders.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting project meetings and technical decision-making.
QualificationsTo be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envisage that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline, with over 10 years of experience in water station and pipeline projects.
Furthermore, you should demonstrate:
- Strong experience in instrumentation and control system design review, supervision, and technical assurance
- Proven expertise in PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems within industrial or water infrastructure environments
- Hands-on experience in water pumping stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control systems, including field devices and system integration
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus, Profibus, or Foundation Fieldbus
- Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system validation activities
- Ability to prepare technical reports, documentation, and project status updates
- Strong project coordination skills and ability to contribute to technical decision-making
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations in instrumentation and control engineering
Extra Preferred Qualifications:- Exposure to security systems such as CCTV and Access Control Systems
- Knowledge of IT and telecom infrastructure including LAN networks, switches, cabling, and server room systems
- Experience in smart water infrastructure, digital control systems, or integrated automation solutions
