Roles & Responsibilities

Role Accountabilities

Release Planning and Scheduling

  • Support the maintenance of the release calendar by consolidating input from delivery teams, ensuring alignment with release standards.

  • Coordinate the execution of release management processes, validating cross team outputs to enable smooth releases.

  • Be a spec for projects and epics to execute release and enforce release methodology; ensure required sign offs from Product, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations are documented.


Quality Assurance

  • Verify that releases meet defined quality standards and fintech specific compliance requirements by validating test completion and signoffs from QA and security teams.

  • Coordinate with testing, product, and operations teams to confirm that compatibility, performance, and system readiness criteria have been met prior to production deployment.


Deployment Oversight

  • Monitor deployment activities across lower, prod like (staging/UAT), and production environments, ensuring adherence to runbooks and rollback procedures.

  • Collaborate with project/agile teams delivering each release

  • Align with IT operations and business operations teams to confirm support readiness and to coordinate post deployment validation activities.


Change Management

  • Support the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process by validating deployment and rollback plans and maintaining accurate records of production changes.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Release success rate: ≥ 98% of deployments completed without critical incident.

  • Deployment lead time: Reduction in time from code complete to production deployment.

  • Go/no-go adherence: 100% of production releases follow formal go/no-go process with required approvals.

  • Environment uptime (test/staging): ≥ 99% availability during planned testing windows.

  • Change compliance: 100% of production changes have documented approval, risk assessment, and rollback plan.

  • Release rollback rate: ≤ 2% of releases require rollback.

  • Post release defect density: ≤ 1 critical defect per major release from internal development detected within 48 hours post deployment.



Desired Candidate Profile

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in release management, DevOps coordination within fintech, banking, or similarly regulated industry.

  • Proven track record managing complex, multi environment releases in cloud native or microservices architecture

  • Handson experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) logic

  • Strong understanding of database change management and API versioning.

  • Clear communicator with a technical mindset – able to present release readiness facts, risks, and in a structured, objective manner during go/no-go discussions.

  • Composed and methodical under pressure – maintains focus on runbooks and escalation protocols during deployment incidents, ensuring swift execution of rollback or remediation steps.

  • Meticulous and process oriented – ensures that all deployment documentation, change approvals, and configuration records are accurate, complete, and audit ready.

  • Collaborative team player – works effectively alongside all departments

  • Proactive risk identifier – anticipates potential deployment issues early and works with engineering and operations to ensure mitigation steps are in place.

  • Adaptable and execution focused – thrives in a fast-paced scaleup environment, adjusting to evolving processes while maintaining discipline in release execution.
