Job description
We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled IT Support Engineer to provide on-site support for Data Center and IT infrastructure operations. The role requires hands-on assistance for server room activities, basic troubleshooting, and end-user support, ensuring smooth IT operations across multiple locations.
- Provide on-site IT support for users at customer locations.
- Support Data Center operations including servers, storage, and networking equipment (routers, switches, etc.).
- Perform basic troubleshooting, device restarts, and cabling activities within the server room.
- Assist vendors during hardware installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Conduct routine data center health checks and report any issues.
- Respond to on-call requests requiring physical intervention in the IT server room.
- Diagnose and resolve desktop and PC-related issues efficiently.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within defined SLA targets.
- Travel to project sites as required to support IT operations.
- Manage and update helpdesk tickets, ensuring proper communication with users and operators.
- Maintain continuous communication with users to ensure proper issue ownership and resolution.
- Escalate unresolved issues to relevant internal or external stakeholders.
- Support and execute tasks assigned by senior IT team members.
RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT support or Data Center operations.
Basic knowledge of: - Servers and storage systems
- Networking devices (routers, switches)
- Desktop support and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience in hardware handling, cabling, and IT infrastructure support.
Familiarity with helpdesk systems and SLA-based support environments.
Ability to work on-call and handle urgent support requirements.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Valid Qatar Driving License is preferred.
