Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a leading technology and service provider in Doha, Qatar. Our client is looking to hire a Systems Architect Lead (Cloud & Infrastructure) who will drive the architecture, governance, and operational excellence of a multi-cloud ecosystem spanning Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments built on Nutanix HCI. This role is pivotal in shaping cloud strategy, ensuring security and resilience, and leading modernization initiatives to support mission-critical workloads at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Multi-Cloud Architecture & Strategy

- Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures across Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments.

- Apply industry best practices, architectural frameworks, and design patterns to ensure resilience and efficiency.

- Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies aligned with long-term business and digital transformation goals.

Hybrid Cloud & HCI Management

- Oversee Nutanix and VMware HCI environments, ensuring seamless integration with public cloud platforms.

- Optimize compute, storage, and workloads across hybrid infrastructure.

- Manage lifecycle activities including upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance

- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, RBAC models, and compliance standards across all cloud platforms.

- Implement cloud security baselines, identity management, and monitoring strategies.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and cybersecurity requirements.

Cloud Cost Management & FinOps

- Lead cost governance initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and spend optimization across Azure and Google Cloud.

- Conduct regular cost reviews and implement cost-saving strategies.

- Ensure visibility through tagging, chargeback models, and usage tracking.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

- Design and implement DR strategies across Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments (Nutanix NC2, AVS, GCVE).

- Conduct DR drills, failover testing, and readiness assessments.

- Ensure mission-critical systems meet defined RPO and RTO targets.

Cloud Migration & Modernization

- Define and execute migration strategies from on-premises and hybrid environments to cloud platforms.

- Lead modernization initiatives leveraging PaaS, containers, and automation.

- Ensure minimal risk and downtime during migration activities.

Landing Zone & Cloud Operations

- Own and enhance Azure and Google Cloud landing zones, governance policies, and guardrails.

- Oversee workload configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

- Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and standardized operational practices.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop the cloud engineering team to ensure high performance and capability growth.

- Define technical standards, best practices, and documentation frameworks.

- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on cloud strategy, risks, and architecture decisions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable cloud-driven business initiatives.


RequirementsExperience & Education

- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, multi-cloud engineering, or hybrid infrastructure roles.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.


Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud platforms.

- Hands-on experience with Nutanix HCI and VMware virtualization technologies.

- Proven ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant multi-cloud architectures.

- Deep understanding of cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

- Strong experience in FinOps, cost optimization, and cloud financial management.

- Experience with multi-tier application migration and modernization.

- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) and automation frameworks.

- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, distributed systems, and hybrid architectures.

- Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and performance optimization.

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Certifications

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) – preferred

- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect – preferred

- Nutanix and/or VMware certifications – advantage
