Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator with a minimum of 7 years of experience in building construction projects in Qatar, specifically villas, residential compounds, and luxury mansions. The ideal candidate will handle both pre-contract and post-contract estimating activities across Civil, Architectural, ID and MEP works, ensuring accurate cost planning and effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:Pre-Contract Duties:Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions for construction projects. Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Coordinate with design, engineering, and procurement teams to gather necessary inputs. Conduct site visits and assessments to support estimation accuracy. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate pricing. Identify risks and opportunities during tender stage and incorporate them into pricing. Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost breakdown structures. Post-Contract Duties:Monitor project costs and compare with initial estimates. Prepare and manage variations, claims, and change orders. Support project teams in cost control and value engineering initiatives. Review subcontractor payments, invoices, and cost reports. Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts. Track project progress and update cost forecasts accordingly.
Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in construction estimating in Qatar. Strong experience in both pre-contract and post-contract processes. Solid knowledge of Civil, Architectural, Fitout and MEP works. Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Excel, Cost X, Plan Swift, Auto CAD Primavera,). Familiarity with local market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors in Qatar. Strong understanding of contracts (FIDIC preferred). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PMP) is an advantage. Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
