Job Details

1. PRIMARY PURPOSE

Plan and Complete Piping FEED with Third party consultant for the project during the FEED and EPC in coordination with relevant disciplines within the Company.




3. DIMENSIONS
Functional:
- Job holder acts as the Expert/Highest technical authority in the area of Piping, Valves and Pump hydraulics. Handle Engineering for the Project long-term FEED, PLANNING and EPC (Detailed engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning).




4. RESPONSIBILITIES




1) Provide piping engineering and act as the main focal point and highest technical authority for all Piping, Valve & Pumping system related matters for FEED /EPC scope development.




2) Review and Issue FEED scope of work inclusive of engineering work related to Piping, Valve & Pumping system. Review deliverables and supervise the engineering/construction/EPC contractor’s work for all modification and engineering activities relating to piping and valve including piping routing and equipment lay-out, piping isometric drawings, pipe support drawings, stress calculations, finite element analysis, piping thickness calculation notes, piping line classes, hydraulic testing, cleaning and flushing procedures, valve and piping specialty item’s datasheets and specifications, flanges and internal drawings, and all welding related activities. Prepare and review technical specifications of all related materials.




3) Prepare and complete detailed design, scope and material procurement activities related to piping tie-in works to be implemented during live plant operations as SIMOPS & In annual plant turnarounds well in time.




4) Monitor detailed piping and valve/design activities, including formulation and interpretation of engineering and materials specifications.




5) Carry out feasibility studies and prepare and review related to Piping, Valve & Pumping system. This includes setting parameters for simulations, reviewing and approving red-lined mark-ups of PFDs, PIDs, data sheets and other relevant deliverables for all modifications from engineering/construction/EPC contractors.




6) Supervise the FEED/engineering/construction/EPC contractor(s)’ work for all related to Piping, Valve & Pumping system, Fabrication drawings review/approval during engineering related projects, ensuring compliance with HSE&S standards and international codes/standards in alignment with company policies and strategies.




7) Interface with contractors’ engineering teams and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met. Review and approve related technical documents.




8) Prepare and review data sheets/specifications, material requisitions, vendor screening/selections, and technical bid evaluations, and approve or make recommendations to management for approval, as per the Document Distribution Matrix (DDM).




9) Review vendors/subcontractor(s) drawings, strength calculations, and related documentation to ensure the piping and/or valve engineering aspects meet the required specifications. Comment on and/or approve the relevant documents and follow-up with engineering contractors to ensure the comments are incorporated into the related documentations.




10) Participate in main/critical materials’ Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide installation and commissioning guidance as required.




12) Coordinate with company policy quality control, Asset Integrity, Projects and Operations teams to provide specialist engineering support in piping and valve related matters.




12) Participate in costing and preparation of budgets for piping and valve/engineering or related projects. Prepare business case studies and techno-economic justifications for high value modification projects.




13) Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, technical studies, PID reviews, constructability reviews and PHAs (Process hazard analysis like Hazop, What if, Hazid etc.).




14) Review technical content of Non-Conformance Requests (NCRs), warranty claims, derogation requests and concession requests received from the engineering/EPC/construction contractors and vendors, and provide recommendations for acceptance, acceptance with comments, or rejection of same for management approval.




15) Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Engineering Manager.




7. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE




Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.




Minimum Experience:

- 15 years’ relevant experience minimum in piping engineering within the oil and gas industry or related engineering consultants/EPC contractors.
Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree (4/5yrs) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional related technical qualifications (PDS/PDMS, Caesar II etc) and Certifications would be an added asset/preferable.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in piping & mechanical engineering for major projects, with at least 5 years at senior level.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Piping/Valve/Vessel engineering for similar oil/gas production and upstream/downstream processing facilities.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Stress analysis as subject matter expert (for detailed analysis and report approvals)
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Piping related Projects. Skilled in computer- 3D Modelling, MS Office/MS projects & Presentation.




- Proficiency in International Codes like API, ASME, ASTM, NACE.
