Job Summary
The Architectural Engineer – Living Quarters is responsible for the architectural design and execution of Living Quarters projects across all phases, including FEED, tendering, EPCIC execution, and handover to Operations. The role ensures delivery of safe, compliant, high-quality, and cost-effective architectural solutions that meet project objectives, operational requirements, and international standards.
Key Accountabilities
Design & Engineering
• Manage architectural design activities from competitive FEED studies through EPCIC execution and transfer to Operations.
• Provide architectural input for the optimal design and layout of new Living Quarters during FEED and EPC phases in coordination with Contractors.
• Develop Living Quarters architectural designs in accordance with the Statement of Requirements (SOR), Functional Specifications, Company standards, and contractual requirements.
• Deliver high-quality architectural design dossiers during FEED and all associated documentation during EPCIC.
• Ensure contractor designs are fit-for-purpose, constructible, operationally efficient, and optimized for low maintenance and operating costs.
• Ensure Living Quarters cabin architecture complies with company safety regulations, quality requirements, and approved project schedules.
• Promote and embed a strong HSE culture throughout all project phases, both onshore and offshore.
Project Execution & Contractor Management
• Provide technical support and clarification to EPC Contractors on architectural and design-related matters.
• Support the development of project contracting and procurement strategies, including long-lead items where applicable.
• Assist in EPC tender preparation, CFT activities, bid evaluations, and technical and commercial assessments.
• Ensure timely finalization of contractual documents and contract awards.
• Manage detailed engineering and Living Quarters cabin progress, including review of engineering and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with design dossiers, company standards, HSE regulations, international codes, and classification society rules.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads to ensure engineering deliverables are reviewed by qualified personnel within agreed timelines.
• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor EPC development to ensure compliance with project specifications, cost, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
• Encourage early identification and implementation of design optimizations and improvements.
• Ensure contractor technical queries are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner.
• Manage and implement the design change management process.
• Support HAZID, HAZOP, and project technical review sessions with contractors and vendors, ensuring actions are tracked and closed.
Construction, Commissioning & Handover
• Provide engineering support to construction and commissioning teams until final handover to Operations.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, and other inspections at vendor and site locations as required.
• Support progress monitoring, risk reporting, and issue resolution throughout execution.
• Ensure smooth and timely handover of completed Living Quarters to Operations.
Planning, Reporting & Coordination
• Assist in defining package budgets and work schedules with a focus on cost optimization and schedule efficiency.
• Monitor and report project progress and forecasts through effective reporting systems.
• Participate in weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc meetings with Contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality of all project-related information.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by line management.
RequirementsEducation
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural engineering.
• Experience working within large, multinational, multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience supporting FEED, EPC, or EPCIC projects is preferred.

Certifications
• H2S OPITO certification.
• T-BOSIET certification.
Language & IT Skills
• Fluent in English.
• Computer literate with proficiency in standard engineering and office applications.
