Job SummaryThe Petroleum & Corporate Solutions Performance Specialist is responsible for overseeing, managing, optimizing, governing, and continuously improving the Petroleum and Corporate Solutions application portfolio. This role focuses on application lifecycle management, performance optimization, license governance, and portfolio consolidation while working closely with business stakeholders and internal IT teams to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee and manage the Petroleum and Corporate Solutions application portfolio, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and governance.
Partner closely with Petroleum and Corporate Solutions Leads to understand business requirements and align application strategies accordingly.
Lead and guide License Managers to drive excellence in application performance and license optimization initiatives.
Act as custodian of the application portfolio and related configuration management records.
Interface with internal IT teams, including Infrastructure, Support, Information Security, Data Management, and Change Advisory Board, for all portfolio-related activities.
Contribute to vendor coordination and procurement-related processes linked to application and license optimization initiatives.
Key ActivitiesApplication Portfolio ManagementManage, monitor, and optimize the Petroleum and Corporate applications portfolio.
Identify opportunities for application rationalization, consolidation, and retirement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date application portfolio and CMDB records.
Define and maintain application portfolio strategy and roadmap in collaboration with business leads.
Monitor industry trends and best practices in application portfolio management.
License ManagementConduct regular license usage reviews and identify optimization opportunities.
Track license and contract expiry dates.
Develop and implement license optimization strategies.
Oversee license optimization tools to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Educate users on license management processes and best practices.
Application Performance ManagementMonitor application performance and availability.
Identify underutilized applications and recurring operational issues.
Recommend corrective and improvement actions.
License Management FrameworkMaintain and govern the license management framework and related documentation.
Ensure adherence to defined controls and processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and improve framework standards.
Technical ExpertiseAct as Subject Matter Expert for license management tools and infrastructure.
Provide advanced support for license management platforms.
Manage upgrades of license management tools and servers.
Develop dashboards, documentation, service catalogs, SOPs, and technical records.
Vendor & Contract ManagementLiaise with external vendors regarding application and license optimization.
Support contract renewals and procurement reviews.
Review license utilization reports prior to procurement activities.
Architecture & Landscape ManagementMaintain and update the Petroleum and Corporate Solutions architecture landscape.
Identify application dependencies, integrations, and technical configurations.
Planning, Collaboration & ProjectsCoordinate with internal IT teams on work plans and initiatives.
Lead License Managers and collaborate with Surface, Subsurface, and Corporate Leads.
Manage technical projects within area of expertise.
Cyber Security & ComplianceEnsure adherence to information security policies.
Act as custodian for password management practices.
Monitor application compliance with security standards and lifecycle requirements.
Cost & Budget ContributionSupport budget forecasting cycles.
Track software-related expenditures.
Identify cost trends and savings opportunities.
RequirementsQualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
At least 5 years of experience in application portfolio management or a related role.
Strong knowledge of license management and optimization tools.
Proven experience in application governance and performance management.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of IT governance frameworks and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
