Job Summary
The incumbent is primarily responsible for assisting in formulating the QNB brand strategy within Domestic and MEA and beyond towards its international audience and stakeholders. A key aspect of this will be the development of the QNB brand using best practice strategic marketing principles to build a sustainable relevant and enduring brand. This will specifically geared around planning and optimizing the QNB Group’s brand strategy and communications in relation to any rebranding/renaming in collaboration with brand management unit, brand differentiation, market positioning, and future brand development amongst the QNB brand portfolio. In addition, the incumbent will support and assist the Manager of Insights functions in data gathering and interpretation to develop insights and action plans on QNB and Competitor products and services to ensure QNB maintains an internationally competitive brand as identified through research data.
Main Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial: Implements KPI’s and best practices for Brand Strategy. Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank. Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent. Customer (Internal & External): Further brand strategy formulation and development and recommends improvements and optimization Develops plans and frameworks to support brand and marketing communications deliver across BU’s in Domestically and Internationally Anticipation of business units’, stakeholder needs and feedback to ensure BU’s and international markets operate within the agreed brand strategy and communications plans Be a brand and communications advocate that encourage all stakeholders to execute the their roles within the agree brand and communications frameworks Ensures comments are actioned, managed and approvals are delivered on time (on brand on brief on time, every time) Contribute to the deployment and management of customer-focused initiatives in order to bring positive cultural change using the brand as a focal point. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory): Act as one of custodians of the brand strategy and ensure all communications are being delivered with respect to the strategy. Identify and define the objectives of market research initiatives or marketing campaigns. Compile and analyse data related to current market trends, customer demands, behaviours, and perceptions. Analyse brand and advertising performance measures, including competitors to ensure QNB Group maintains market dominance. Summarize and report on the research findings, explaining them within the context of the business and individual roles. Deliver reports and presentations with actionable recommendations to provide strategic direction and support the teams in campaign planning and execution. Develop strategic frameworks to ensure communications maintain brand consistency in terms of segments or propositions. Utilize the research to provide insightful and constructive feedback to colleagues. Monitor relevant business and financial news within core markets to inform on potential impacts to brand value. Identify areas of weakness and offer guidance to mitigate challenges and improve brand performance. Build strong relationships with subsidiary teams through guidance, direction, and collaborative work to support Group-wide initiatives and objectives. Build greater understanding and reinforcement of the brand strategy by emphasizing on the bank’s standards and offerings and making them meaningful. Ensure that the brand is based on differentiation, customers’ long-term loyalty and competitive advantage. Ensure that the brand caters to the consumers’ needs and benefits, in a way that differentiates the bank from its competitors. Use all collected information to ensure that QNB Group’s brand is in line with the local and international market segmentation, and involves customers with different interests and use of the bank’s financial products and services. Build greater understanding and reinforcement of the brand strategy by emphasizing on the bank’s standards and offerings and making them meaningful. Express thoughts effectively and convincingly using appropriate verbal and non-verbal behaviours to reinforce logical, concise messages both internally and externally. Share, through logic and insights the optimum way forward with effective ideas, plans and tools to support their efforts Communicate with all functions within the department and internationally to ensure the capturing all ideas when brainstorming. Develop communication networks internally and externally to gain a better understanding of QNB Group’s brand perception in local and international markets. Build relationships and establish credibility as a trusted advisor for colleagues and other stakeholders in regards to QNB Group’s Communications strategy. Continue to monitor, review and examine the competitive environment to ensure QNB is differentiated Recommend appropriate plans to achieve strategic long term goals Consider how internal and external longer-term issues affect area plans. Support strategic planning activities and communicate plans to the internal and external customers. Develop plans for specific work activities in own area over the medium term, including forecasting resource requirements. Learning & Knowledge: Translate organizational initiatives into specific tasks and objectives Prioritize key issues to be addressed by marketing communications with defined commercial objectives Create the necessary frameworks and systems to enable teams and individuals towards the common agreed communications plan Demonstrate speed and flexibility in decision-making. Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities. Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities: Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy). Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks. Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy. Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements. Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence. Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank. Other: Understand the integration of Divisional plans and support Departmental plans. Establish targets and designs systems to fulfil the strategic objectives & Mission of the Bank. Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information. Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators. Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position. All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
