KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The Head of Engineering will be the focal point for managing the scope, change management, engineering resources, planning, progress, and budgeting.
- Ensure engineering schedule and progress are managed and controlled effectively.
- Ensure engineering development is consolidated with stakeholders and aligns within the assigned scope and Project Design.
- Ensure package engineering team is staffed and competent to perform reviews and validations in time as per contract.
- Ensure Engineering Dossier is delivered with a robust definition and fit for purpose design that can be procured, fabricated, transported, installed, and operated safely, meeting the requirements of Company standard and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Package Engineering Execution Plan in accordance with overall Project Execution plan to develop agreed baselines for Package engineering scope, cost, schedule, risk, and resources.
- Manage and control the proper realization of engineering development. Ensure the good progress of engineering in compliance with project specifications and procedures, time schedule, required level of quality and safety.
- Identify any optimization / improvement in the design dossier to be implemented in the early stage of detailed design, promote, and encourage submissions of value engineering proposals.
- Ensure as far as possible standardization of design proposals.
- Closely monitor the weight evolution of topsides and jackets through bi-weekly update of the weight reports, guaranty protection of company contingencies and keep weight increases within approved limits.
- Liaise with discipline leaders and engineering coordinators to identify/review the potential deviations.
- Manage the EPC meetings for all disciplines and lead meetings with Contractors as required by the management.
- Prepare and issue project engineering management reports detailing engineering progress across schedule, budget, risks, and technical issues to ensure accurate information is available to support decision making and opportunities.
- Assist in performing engineering audits that include audit of engineering process, resources and deliverables.
- Ensure close coordination between engineering disciplines and with other Company entities on all engineering, constructability, and operational matters during FEED & detailed design developments.
- Ensure that project engineering is executed in accordance with the organization’s safety regulations, with quality conformance as per Company standards.
- Lead risk management process within Engineering Team, ensure project engineering risk are identified, recorded, mitigated and managed.
- Control and manage the workload of the engineering team, update the mobilization and demobilization plan accordingly.
- The scope of activities will concern greenfield (new development), brownfield activities (on existing platforms) and integration works.
- Major Projects involve the development of new offshore platforms, integration to the existing facilities, installation of subsea pipelines, debottlenecking of existing functions, all these activities will be executed across several international sites. Projects involve complex interfaces with other entities of the Company. The Job holder will be based in the Main Engineering premises, then possibly to the Construction Yard. Possibility of worldwide relocation to follow detailed engineering development with various contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering degree or equivalent.
· Minimum15 years’ experience in engineering field in Oil and Gas sector.
· Experience in managing organizations of significant size with at least 3 years managing multidiscipline engineering team.
· Offshore Engineering experience is required along with good knowledge of industry codes, standards, and legislations on HSE aspect.
· Process and safety backgrounds are preferred.
· Strong leadership skills and good communication skills with the ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
