Roads Inspector

  • Understand the Road Operation and Management Department scope, tasks and target
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for executing operations and maintenance of road networks in coordination with the Management Consultants (MC)/ contractors.
  • Inspect and supervise road repair works on the networks
  • Monitor stakeholders work schedules, set priorities and ensure the appropriate assignment of equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Administer, prioritize and oversee major repairs on the road network, oversee assignment maintenance crews to repair networks.
  • Work proactively with the RMD and design consultants to resolve any design related issues.
  • Prioritize projects and assign work to outsourced maintenance crews to repair road networks, taking into consideration criticality of work to be executed.
  • Ensure that incidents / emergencies reported are attended to and resolved by the maintenance contractors or in-house teams
  • Perform emergency road maintenance and respond to public complaints and requests/ calls received from Customer Contact Centre / Road Management Centre x Assist the project team in ensuring that road upgrading and maintenance works are carried out to the specified technical standards and that corrective action is taken as needed.
  • Carry out the quarterly, annual and long-term preventative and routine maintenance plans to ensure that the road networks perform to the specified level of operations based on asset management standards and recommendations
  • Coordinate with the Design Department to develop and implement improvements to existing road networks.
  • Manage, supervise and monitor the performance of maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to defined SLAs
  • Raise any issues that require consideration to the road networks Engineering Advisor / Expert for advice on actions/ recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures within the section and comply with any new work instructions.
  • Perform other duties/ tasks as required

Skills

Qualification:

  • Diploma in relevant subject or above
  • Holder of current/valid Qatar Driving License (optional)


Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ work experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of EAMS or equivalent system with regard to operation, system administration and training
  • Practical experience in developing SQL scripts to extract data is essential
  • Knowledge of asset hierarchy, asset types and related asset attributes x Knowledge of asset management standards and best practice (e.g. PAS55, ISO55000), and closely associated systems to Maximo EAMS (e.g. GIS, CRMS, ERP) is desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and in particular Microsoft Excel 2010 x Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is essential
