Credit Analyst (Real Estate / Contracting)

Job Overview:


We are seeking a dynamic Credit Analyst to provide operational and analytical support to the Real Estate and Contracting division. In this role, you will prepare credit proposals and applications, monitor business credit quality, and ensure adherence to internal policies, Qatar Central Bank regulations, and other relevant guidelines. You will also identify, measure, and control risks in your assigned portfolio, analyzing clients' financial strengths and weaknesses, and providing actionable recommendations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the Real Estate and Contracting division in preparing and processing credit proposals in line with regulatory and internal policy guidelines.
  • Conduct in-depth credit risk assessments for clients, offering interpretations of financial data and identifying potential risks and credit enhancements.
  • Ensure timely internal credit rating and RAROC updates for lending clients, especially when new facilities are granted or new information is available.
  • Review and ensure completeness of all credit-related documents, identifying any deficiencies and coordinating resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Gather and assess customer performance data to evaluate creditworthiness for existing and new facilities.
  • Liaise with internal teams to clarify missing information and ensure that credit applications are processed within the designated turnaround time.
  • Contribute to improving credit procedures by proposing enhancements and streamlining processes.
  • Evaluate portfolio risks at both pre- and post-sanction stages to ensure compliance with approval terms, policies, and risk management guidelines.
  • Verify that all required documents, including commercial registrations, are submitted in accordance with credit approvals and policy requirements.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5-8 years of experience in the financial services or banking industry, with a focus on credit analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, credit analysis, and due diligence.
  • Experience in preparing and writing credit proposals.
  • Deep understanding of local banking regulations, credit risk factors, and financial structuring.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, cash flow, balance sheets, and working capital requirements.
  • Strong risk mitigation skills with a proven ability to assess and manage borrower creditworthiness.
  • A good understanding of market trends and customer behavior.
