Cargo Operations Officer- Melbourne, Australia

We are recruiting for Cargo Operations Officer for Melbourne, Australia.

The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring smooth cargo operations at the station/ region through close coordination with the GHA’s and staff within the station/ region. Continuously monitor and develop adherence to regulations outlined by local authorities and regulatory bodies and ensure strict compliance to IATA regulations for effective movement of inbound and outbound cargo whilst reducing operation costs involved.  

Accountabilities:

·        Constantly monitor the cargo handling in the station/ region and suggest to Head Office best practices to be implemented within the station/ region to achieve operational excellence.

·        Implement, monitor and review Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) with the GHA’s to ensure smooth cargo operations.

·        Streamlining policies with GHA staff in order to follow procedures in absence of cargo staff.

·        Ensure smooth interface from Sales/ GSA to GHA including booking priorities, clear FBL instruction and priorities are given to GHAs, special cargo is handled correctly, pre-alerts sent.

·        Directing staff and GHA to contribute highest level of service standard and optimum utilization of space and available payload, by coordinating with GHA and inter departments.

·        Maintain on time performance of aircraft operations and ensure no delays occur due to ground operations, throughout the delegated station/ region by making all arrangements well ahead of time.

·         Ensure discrepancies and non-conformances are minimized in order to reduce claims and penalties, to increase customer satisfaction and reduce carrier liability.

·        Coordinate with customer services/ cargo claims departments at Head Office and forward all necessary claim documents and admin issues

·        Implement the developed strategies to enhance services offered whist reducing operational unit costs.

·        Ensure all safety and security incidents are thoroughly investigated through to root cause analysis and reported within company timeframes.

Qualifications

·        High school qualification/ Vocational Qualification/ Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience

·        Knowledge of Air Cargo Operations is a must

·        Detailed knowledge of IATA Cargo Handling
