REPORTING TO: HSSE Supervisor

Overall Mission

To share knowledge on best practice on health and safety environment in the development of HSE Management system and promote a culture of continues improvement.

Qualifications

University Degree with NEBOSH certificate/ Diploma. Preferably with latest prevalent safety certifications/trainings

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point of contact and source of professional safety information and advice.
  • Development of HSSE policies, practices and procedures.
  • Play an active role in fulfilling Health & Safety procedures and Environmental standards
  • Develop and implement solutions for emergency readiness plans for the organization.
  • Conduct HSE induction and other safety awareness training for employees.
  • Conduct Toolbox meetings as per Project Requirements
  • Attending all HSE Meetings and prepare MOM as per Project Requirements
  • Implementing all HSE requirements on all RMS Projects.
  • Preparing and obtaining approval of HSE Plans, Risk Assessment, SOP & Other HSE documents as per Projects requirements.
  • Initiate the need of improving HSE processes though monitoring of plans, conducting site inspections, audits, drills, participating in joint meetings and accumulating feedbacks.
  • Communicate HSE policies and strategic objectives to team members and interpret policies in relation to team members’ specific jobs.
  • Implement safe work practices and develop safety plans within the organization.
  • Stay abreast with the environmental issues such as Pollution and Waste Management and skilled in recommending control measures to address the issues.
  • Chair safety meetings; deal tactfully with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and control daily HSE practices through regular checks of work sites, ensure that hazards are identified, precautionary measures are taken and relevant HSE advice provided.
  • Ensure all accidents, injuries, fires, property damage, and other safety related incidents, issues are investigated, disseminates required reports and ensures that recommended preventive measures are carried out.
  • Check/advise proper usage and maintenance of HSE related protective equipment and evaluate effectiveness to particular job task or activity.
  • To perform any other functions and responsibilities relative to HSE which be assigned intermittently by the Management.

  • Check/advise proper usage and maintenance of HSE related protective equipment and evaluate effectiveness to particular job task or activity.
  • To perform any other functions and responsibilities relative to QHSSE which be assigned intermittently by the Management.
  • Follow up non-conformance reports and confirm remedial actions are carried out.
  • Achieve and Exceed HSSE Objectives.

Competency Requirements

  • Excellent Knowledge of safety norms prevailing in marine/construction industry and sound awareness of local statutory rules and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, Risk evaluation, Environmental aspects & impacts evaluation with internal auditing skills.
  • Skilled in preparing and reviewing documents related to HSE.
  • Ability to Implement and Inspect Safety requirements in the company.
  • Sound knowledge in giving Tool Box Talks; Risk Assessment; Emergency preparedness, Hazardous material and basic medical training.
  • Able to guide workers in scaffold safety, working at heights, fire extinguishing etc.
  • Knowledge of market trends and suppliers.
  • Good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to make good judgments and render good decisions.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Professional in MS Office skills.
