For our own projects, we are looking for: Lead Document Controller.
MISSION:
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Qatargas standards and will ensure that all project documentation is handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with both client and company requirements.
TASKS:
- Lead and manage all document control activities for the offshore project, ensuring accurate and timely processing, distribution, and filing of project-related documents.
- Implement and maintain document control procedures in alignment with Qatargas standards, ensuring consistency across all documentation processes.
- Oversee the receipt, tracking, and storage of documents including project drawings, technical specifications, reports, and correspondence.
- Ensure all documentation is properly logged and categorized, with correct revision numbers and distribution to relevant parties.
- Manage the day-to-day document control operations on-site, ensuring that critical documents are readily available for the project team.
- Coordinate with on-site engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure proper document flow, tracking changes and updates to drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper control of hard copy and electronic documentation, safeguarding the integrity and availability of key project data.
- Facilitate the timely turnover of documentation between the offshore site and the head office or client representatives.
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of document controllers on-site, ensuring compliance with document control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to Qatargas standards, as well as relevant industry regulations and project-specific requirements.
- Prepare and provide regular reports on document control activities, including status updates on pending or overdue documents.
- Manage the preparation and handover of final documentation packages to the client at the completion of the project.
- Maintain an archive of project documentation for future reference, ensuring easy access to historical data when required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, or a related field (preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in in document control roles, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector and Offshore projects.
- Proven experience working with Qatargas standards is mandatory.
- Previous experience leading a document control team on large-scale EPC/EPCI offshore projects.
- Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
