Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Data Management Specialist in the Business Intelligence Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on implementing robust data management strategies and practices to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of the organization's critical data assets. Working in a dynamic healthcare environment, the Data Management Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce data governance policies and oversee data stewardship activities, driving the organization’s data quality and governance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and Implement Data Management Strategies: Collaborate with stakeholders to create and enforce strategies that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accountability across all business units.
• Manage Data Stewardship: Oversee data stewardship activities, ensuring the proper validation, maintenance, and resolution of data quality issues by collaborating with data owners and stewards.
• Lead Metadata Management Initiatives: Spearhead cross-functional efforts to develop, maintain, and document metadata repositories, ensuring clarity in data definitions, lineage, and usage.
• Standardize Data Management Processes: Establish and continuously improve standardized frameworks for metadata management, master data management, and data quality assurance, ensuring consistency across all data touchpoints.
• Perform Regular Data Quality Audits: Conduct systematic data quality assessments, implementing corrective actions for identified inconsistencies or anomalies to improve the overall health of the data.
• Oversee Master Data Management: Ensure the accurate entry, validation, and governance of master data records, promoting consistency and reliability of critical data elements across the organization.
• Educate and Empower Stakeholders: Lead training sessions and create educational materials for stakeholders at all levels, ensuring broad understanding and adherence to data governance principles and best practices.
• Collaborate on Data Governance Policies: Work closely with IT and business units to design, implement, and enforce data governance policies that align with regulatory requirements and business needs.
• Administer Data Catalogs and Systems: Ensure the efficient management and operation of data cataloging systems, aligning them with organizational data strategies and best practices to support data discovery and governance. and master data management systems.
Skills & Qualifications
• Expertise in Data Management: Proven proficiency in managing master and reference
data, with strong experience in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Knowledge of Data Governance and Quality Standards: In-depth understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and healthcare data management best practices.
• Data Visualization and Analysis Skills: Skilled in using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in data management.
• Autonomous Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,
managing tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines through a well-organized approach.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with attention to details and creative problem-solving skills to address data-related challenges and improve processes.
• Communication and Presentation Skills: Proficient in delivering compelling, well- structured presentations to effectively communicate data insights
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Data Management (CDMP, DGSP, CBIP, CCDM) preferred
