Key Result Areas:

Create, advance and update a policy development rubric to guide the center s knowledge outputs, policy recommendations, and stakeholder engagement efforts. Contribute to developing the center s broad programmatic agenda, focus areas and future outlook; lead efforts to identify local policy gaps and global trends in the center s focus areas.

Conduct research, analysis, and develop evidence-based policy recommendations, leveraging the expertise found at Education City and of external partners: for sustainability in dry and arid climates and sustainable urbanism; on long term sustainability economic considerations for Qatar; and on the future of energy markets. Lead policy development targeted for local policy makers, and where relevant for global policy audiences, based on successes from Education City sustainability programs and pilots.

Identify partners with expertise and research on key selected topics within the QF ecosystem, and lead efforts to translate these into digestible policy recommendations that can be used by national and international stakeholders.

Coordinate and collaborate with existing research entities within QF to translate existing research content for policy advocacy purposes at local and international levels.

Lead in the development of material to provide advice and support to national stakeholders, through consultative engagement, production of white papers, policy briefs or memos, organization of round tables and private briefing sessions, and other tools of relevant engagement.

Contribute research and policy relevant reports for the center s flagship event(s) on key topics including sustainable dry cities and sustainable urbanism, energy transition, among other sustainability considerations.

Lead efforts with the program management and content development teams to coordinate content for the center s reports and policy papers.

Deliver on policy advocacy plans based on the published policy research and recommendations reports as agreed with the broader Earthna team.

Advocate for policy development on center topics, engaging with key policy makers via meetings, roundtables, or other formats to provide key findings and promote and advocate for policy change.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Bachelor s degree in a relevant field and 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience in sustainability research and policy development, content development, advocacy and/ or outreach, 2 of which at a supervisory level; Master s/PhD preferred

Experience in the field of sustainability with specific knowledge on the needs of the region with a focus on dry/arid climates and in the context of hydrocarbons-rich nations and other developing countries.

Advanced knowledge of public policy or public administration, economics, international development, or similarly relevant field

Proven understanding of the 3 dimensions of sustainability, environmental, social, and economic and how those interlink at a broad strategic level to enable developing policy recommendations for sustainable cities and urbanism, and for economic and energy transition.

Strong communication and collaborative skills and an aptitude for relationship building at local and international level to enable cross-industry experts to engage and discuss policy-relevant issues.

Excellent creativity and innovative thinking constantly seeking to improve the way things are done.

Consulting expertise, particularly in advising decision-makers in administration and other senior stakeholders.

Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage

Proficiency in MS Office applications
