Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This role is pivotal in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the welfare of employees and site visitors across diverse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, incident investigation techniques, and risk assessment methodologies, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) in line with local regulations and international standards.
- Identify, assess, and control safety hazards; conduct risk assessments and prepare mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks; track corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
- Investigate all accidents and near-misses; prepare detailed investigation reports with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors; maintain training records and certifications.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management procedures; ensure readiness of evacuation plans and safety equipment.
- Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, permits-to-work, and PPE usage; ensure proper installation and maintenance of safety systems.
- Collaborate with operations, construction, and facilities teams to embed safety into daily activities and project planning.
- Prepare safety performance metrics, reports, and management reviews; present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries from employees, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or equivalent).
- Minimum of X years of relevant experience in safety management (ISO 45001, OSHA guidelines, or equivalent); experience in Qatar is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local regulations and industry best practices related to health and safety.
- Proven track record in incident investigation, risk assessment, and accident prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train and influence at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, organize workload, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software; basic report-writing and data analysis skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
