Isteel Engineering Trading can produce up to 1,500 metric tons of structural steel and pre-engineered components each month, including painted steel frames, galvanized members, and panels with accessories. This robust capacity enables the company to support complex projects and offer reliable, timely delivery to clients. Role Description The Fabrication Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Doha, Qatar manufacturing facility. The Fabrication Engineer will oversee the fabrication of structural steel and pre-engineered components, including frames, galvanized members, and panels, ensuring adherence to technical drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing engineering designs, preparing fabrication plans, coordinating with production teams, monitoring workflow, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. The role involves conducting inspections, verifying measurements and tolerances, optimizing fabrication processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste. The Fabrication Engineer will collaborate with project managers, quality control staff, and maintenance teams to meet project schedules and maintain reliable operation of fabrication machinery. Qualifications Strong knowledge of structural steel and pre-engineered building fabrication, including frames, galvanized members, and panel systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication detailing, and workshop documentation. Experience with fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, forming, and assembly, and familiarity with related machinery and tools. Understanding of quality control standards, inspection methods, and industry codes relevant to steel fabrication. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations in industrial and fabrication environments. Ability to plan and coordinate production activities, prioritize tasks, and meet fabrication timelines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving technical and process-related issues on the shop floor. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, production, quality, and management teams. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; relevant technical diploma with strong experience may be considered. Previous experience in steel fabrication or pre-engineered building manufacturing, preferably in a high-capacity plant environment. Comfort working on-site in a manufacturing setting and ability to adapt to fast-paced production requirements.
