Role Description The Senior Mechanical Designer Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves leading mechanical design activities for building and infrastructure projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, from concept through detailed design. The engineer will prepare and review drawings, specifications, and calculations, coordinate with electrical , architectural and structural teams, and ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and client requirements. Daily responsibilities include overseeing design reviews, guiding junior engineers and draftspeople, resolving technical issues, and supporting value engineering and design optimization. The role also requires participation in client and contractor meetings, responding to technical queries, and providing support during construction and commissioning phases. Qualifications Strong mechanical engineering background, with demonstrated experience in building services design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection). Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit, mechanical calculation tools) and familiarity with international and local building codes and standards. Experience leading projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications for quality and accuracy. Ability to mentor junior team members, manage multiple deadlines, and solve complex technical problems in a fast-paced consulting environment. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional registration or certification is an advantage. Previous experience in an architecture or engineering consultancy, preferably in Qatar or the Gulf region, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, and collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Grade A , UPDA is must
