Job Description The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored according to hotel standards. Wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, and equipment. Keep kitchen, dishwashing area, and back-of-house areas clean and organized. Dispose of waste properly and maintain hygiene standards. Support kitchen team with basic cleaning and setup tasks when needed. Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Report any damaged equipment or safety issues to supervisor. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards. Support chefs and kitchen team with basic operational tasks when needed. Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a steward or in a kitchen/cleaning role is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Team player with a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours and handle heavy loads.
- Good communication and willingness to learn.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
