Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities - Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Repair broken furniture, doors, windows, cabinetry, drywall, and wooden flooring in guest rooms and public areas.
- Installation & Construction: Build and install new shelving, cabinets, drywall, trim, molding, and framework as required for hotel renovations or upgrades.
- Hardware Maintenance: Repair and replace door locks, hinges, closers, handles, and automatic door mechanisms.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Participate in the hotel s PM program, systematically inspecting guest rooms and public spaces to identify and fix structural or cosmetic woodwork issues before they affect guests.
- Event & Banquet Support: Assist the events team by building, modifying, or repairing stages, props, partitions, and specialized signage for conferences and banquets.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, fire regulations, and occupational safety standards (OSHA). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 4 years of experience as a professional carpenter, preferably within a hotel, resort, commercial building, or residential property management setting.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, sanders, routers).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of related trades (e.g., painting, drywall finishing, basic masonry).
- Soft Skills:
- Discretion and Professionalism: Ability to work quietly and efficiently in guest areas with minimal disruption to the guest experience.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to fix unique structural or furniture issues on the fly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in tight or awkward spaces.
