IT Security Governance Officer Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Governance Officer to oversee information security governance, risk, and compliance activities. The role is responsible for developing security policies, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity regulations and international standards, managing security risks, coordinating audits, and supporting the organization's cybersecurity governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT). Conduct security risk assessments and monitor remediation activities. Coordinate internal and external security audits and compliance reviews. Monitor security controls, vendor compliance, and governance reporting. Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives and incident governance. Collaborate with IT, Risk, Legal, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.4–7 years of experience in Information Security Governance, GRC, or Cybersecurity. Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, and cybersecurity compliance. Experience in risk management, audit coordination, and policy development. Professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are preferred. Government or public sector experience is an advantage.
