We are seeking a qualified Marine Engineer to support marine construction projects including dredging, land reclamation, piling, quay wall construction, subsea pipelines, and rock filling. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of marine plant and equipment, vessel operations, and construction methodologies to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical engineering support for marine construction activities including dredging, piling, rock placement, and subsea pipeline installation
Coordinate with civil engineers, project managers, and marine superintendents to align marine operations with construction schedules
Oversee marine plant and equipment including excavators on barges, crane barges, tugs, hopper barges, split barges, and workboats
Assist in planning and coordinating vessel movements for rock filling, dredging spoil disposal, and material transport
Conduct inspections of marine equipment and vessels to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with marine equipment, pumps, dredging systems, and hydraulic systems
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and work procedures for marine construction activities
Coordinate with survey teams for positioning, bathymetry, and volume calculations
Ensure compliance with classification society rules, SOLAS, MARPOL, and local maritime regulations
Monitor marine plant performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules
Liaise with subcontractors including dredging companies, rock suppliers, and marine transport providers
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for project management
Assist in marine logistics planning including material deliveries and equipment mobilization/demobilization
Ensure HSE compliance including toolbox talks, permits, and emergency response planning
Maintain accurate records of marine activities, inspections, and equipment certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Marine specialization)
Valid Marine Engineer License (Chief Engineer or Second Engineer preferred)
Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Marine Engineer in marine construction, dredging, or offshore projects
Strong knowledge of marine plant and equipment including dredgers, barges, excavators on barges, cranes, and tugs
Experience with dredging and reclamation projects, rock filling, or subsea pipeline construction
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, marine diesel engines, and dredging equipment
Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyds) and international maritime regulations
Proficiency in maintenance management systems and MS Office
Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/HUET) if required
Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu or Arabic is a plus
