We are seeking a qualified Lifting Engineer to plan, design, and engineer all lifting operations for marine, offshore, and heavy construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in lift planning, rigging design, crane selection, and load calculations to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed lift plans for complex and critical lifts including tandem lifts, offshore lifts, and heavy module installations
Perform structural and mechanical calculations for rigging arrangements, lifting points, and load distribution using engineering software
Select appropriate lifting equipment, cranes, rigging gear, and accessories based on load requirements and site conditions
Prepare lifting studies, method statements, risk assessments, and lift procedure documents in compliance with international standards (ISO, BS, LOLER, DNV)
Review and approve subcontractor lift plans and rigging designs
Provide on-site technical support during lifting operations, ensuring adherence to approved lift plans
Conduct engineering risk assessments for lifting operations and propose mitigation measures
Ensure all lifting activities comply with class society rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyds), client requirements, and HSE regulations
Assist in inspection and certification of lifting equipment; review lifting gear certifications and test reports
Provide technical guidance to lifting supervisors, riggers, and site engineers
Stay updated with latest lifting technologies, regulations, and industry best practices
Maintain accurate records of lift plans, calculations, and equipment certifications
Participate in incident investigations related to lifting operations and recommend improvements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Lifting Engineer in marine, offshore, or heavy construction projects
Proven experience in offshore heavy lift engineering, marine barge lifting operations, and crane selection
Proficiency in lift planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SACS, Ansys)
Strong knowledge of international lifting standards and regulations (LOLER, BS, ISO, API)
Experience with heavy lift vessels, floating cranes, and offshore lifting operations
Valid certifications in lifting engineering (LEEA Diploma, API RP 2D, or equivalent)
NEBOSH/IOSH certification preferred
Offshore survival certificates (BOSIET/HUET) if required
Fluency in English
Required Skills:

Advanced knowledge of load dynamics, structural analysis, and rigging configurations
Experience with crane load charts and lift simulation tools
Excellent report writing and technical presentation skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple lifts
