Roles & Responsibilities

WSP is looking for a Senior Material Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 12-15 years of professional experience in materials engineering, preferably on Ashghal infrastructure or roads projects in Qatar.

Strong knowledge of QCS, Ashghal standards, and materials testing procedures is required. Proven experience working with engineering consultancies on large-scale infrastructure projects is essential. MMUP/UPDA registration is mandatory.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving material submittals, mix designs, and samples in compliance with QCS and Ashghal standards. The role involves supervising on-site and off-site materials testing and reviewing laboratory results to ensure all construction materials meet project specifications and quality requirements.

The Senior Material Engineer will identify non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are implemented. This includes conducting site inspections related to material usage, storage, and compliance, and coordinating with contractors, laboratories, and the supervision team on materials issues. Maintaining materials documentation, approvals, and quality records is also a key part of the role.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 12-15 years of professional experience in materials engineering, preferably on Ashghal infrastructure or roads projects in Qatar.
• Strong knowledge of QCS, Ashghal standards, and materials testing procedures.
• Proven experience working with engineering consultancies on large scale infrastructure projects.
• MMUP/UPDA registration is mandatory
• Membership in a recognized professional engineering body is an advantage.
